2 Days / 1 Night Maasai Mara Wildlife Safari from Kisumu

Trip Highlights:
This is an exciting 2 days adventure into one of the best wildlife sanctuaries in Africa; the famous Maasai Mara. This is the 7th wonder of the world and 4th most preferred tourist destination. The trip will start in Kisumu where you will be met by your Tour Guide and immediately be transferred to the Mara through Sotik. You will be able to see plenty of wildlife varying from the big five among a host of other different animal species. While on this safari, you will travel with our tour guide privately in a comfortable safari minivan and stay in lodges.

Itinerary:

Day 1: Kisumu – Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Early in the morning at 7.00am,you will be met by the driver/guide and be briefed on your safari before being transferred to the airstrip for departure to Mara. Upon arrival you will check in to your lodge then depart for a game drive, carrying packed lunch with you. After continue with game viewing till evening when you return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

The Maasai Mara National Reserve, now the New 7th wonder of the world and 4th most preferred tourist destination is a home to wildlife in such abundance and variety that it is difficult to imagine. The most spectacular event of the natural world takes place here; The annual migration of millions of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti (Tanzania) in search of water and pasture while being followed on their heels by the predators of the savanna; lion, cheetah, wild dog, jackal, hyena and vulture. It hosts over 450 species of animals which include lions, rhinos, hippos, crocodiles, giraffe, wildebeests, zebras, buffalo, warthogs, hyenas, jackals, wild dogs, buffalo, leopard, many kinds of antelopes and elephants.

Day 2: Maasai Mara Game Reserve – Kisumu
Very early in the morning before sunrise, depart for a hot air balloon game viewing flight above the spectacular Maasai Mara. The balloon flight takes approximately one hour after which landing is followed by a full champagne type breakfast prepared for you in the bush. After breakfast, you will receive a balloon certificate, after which you will be driven back to your lodge with a game viewing drive en route. You will have lunch served at your lodge, and afterwards be transferred to the airstrip for transfer to Kisumu, arriving in the evening.

Hot Air Balloon Game Viewing Flight

You will head to the launch site where you will meet your pilot who will brief you as you watch the inflation of your balloon. You will be ready to take off before dawn and fly over the game filled plains and river Rine forest watching out for animals and plains game. You will be rising as the sun rises and float to whichever direction the winds of the morning take you. The experienced pilot at the wheel will easily control the altitude of your balloon sometimes flying at treetop level and sometimes lower, each time offering a unique perspective and a great photographic opportunity of the wildlife below. At that height, you will be able to have a breath-taking view of the pristine wilderness from a bird’s eye view. From time to time, the pilot must pump in more heat into the balloon to keep it afloat.

Lunch will be served at Mara Simba Lodge or similar
